IMPORTANT NOTICE:
I. International students who are coming to China with new visas, please check the visa type and read the following notices carefully.
X1-visa: usually there is only one entry permitted on X1 visa, and the holders can only stay no more than 30 days after entering China. Students must register at CIE and apply for a residence permit visa within 30 days since entering China, otherwise illegal stay will be constituted. CIE provides information for students to take a physical examination or verify own medical check report (issued within 6 months) at the designated hospital in Shanghai. This examination report is necessary for residence permit application.
It will take international students about 1 month to complete the whole process of residence permit; therefore, a detailed trip plan is needed. Please register at the designated registration date on Admission Notice. Early arrival is not suggested as it may cause visa expire during registration time.
X2-visa: the number of entries permitted and the duration of each stay (by days after each entry) are indicated on the visa. Students shall remember the expiration date clearly, and register at the designated date on Admission Notice.
2. International students who have already stayed or resided in China, please check the visa type and read the following notices carefully.
Residence Permit: Students shall assure that, on the date of registration, there are still over 7 days left to the expiration of the validity period. After registration, Students need to apply for a new residence permit for study.
Visa of the other type: Students shall assure that, on the date of registration, there are still over 15 days left to the expiration of the duration of the stay. After registration, students need to apply for a residence permit, or change to a study-purpose visa.
Stay permit: It’s not allowed to apply for a new visa or residence permit in China with a stay permit visa. Students have to exit or go back to home country to apply for a new study purpose visa overseas, and re-enter China and register with the new visa.
